The Cowichan Valley School District is located on Vancouver Island, one of the most beautiful regions of British Columbia. Our elementary schools offer students diverse programs like French Immersion, community schools and regular programs. Student participate in all academic subjects as well as Art, computer assisted learning, music and an introduction of French.

Our four secondary schools offer students the opportunity to participate in award winning athletic programs, advanced academic courses, fine arts and a wide variety of unique elective courses ranging from subjects like Forensic Science, Psychology, Drama, Art, Dance and Computer Graphics to more experiential courses exploring the outdoors, photography, rock climbing, and Wilderness Survival. We also offer field hockey, rock climbing, ice hockey and basketball programs.
At our secondary schools students can take part in a full range of extracurricular activities that include rugby, field and ice hockey, basketball, volleyball, rock climbing, dance, drama, band and soccer. Students can also choose to join community activities like, swimming, dance, rowing, golf, baseball, skiing/snowboarding and tennis.
Our home stays are carefully selected to ensure that students are placed in a caring English immersion home. Our safe, friendly 98% English first language communities ensure our students are always practicing their English. Students who choose to come live in the Cowichan Valley become a part our communities.
The Cowichan Valley is ideally situated between the cities of Nanaimo and our capital city of Victoria. This provides all of the services and shopping of a large city only forty minutes away and the safety and slower pace of a smaller community.
